Ride-On photoMembers' Social

Twenty Villagers and the public were so excited about the transportation programs available through the City of Fremont’s Ride-On Tri-City! program that most stayed after to sign up. Shawn Fong gave a very informative presentation about the program's many affordable transportation services. Villagers learned about options when the time comes to retire a driver’s license. $4 Lyft rides, longer rides for medical appointments, and training classes were highlights of the program. Many attendees also signed up and received their BART Senior Clipper Card at the end of the meeting.

If you were unable to attend, you can learn about Ride-On Tri-City! services by calling 510-574-2053 or emailing RideOnTriCity@Fremont.gov

Want to Get Involved?

We are recruiting Villagers to participate in the Community Ambassador Program for Seniors (CAPS)
CAPS is a City of Fremont program that trains Tri-City volunteers from many cultural, linguistic, and religious backgrounds about senior needs and senior services. GNV’s goal is to increase the number of Villager volunteers who are also certified Community Ambassadors to help us all navigate the complicated network of social service organizations. CAPS involves regular meetings for training and problem-solving, plus a two-day training program that’s offered every 18 months. If you are interested in helping Villagers locate community resources, email Iris.Nicholson@NilesVillage.org for more information.

Join Greater Niles Village at the next two-day CAPS training
March 5 and March 19, 2025, 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM. (Attendance is required both days)
