SIP: Shelter in Place. Sounds easy enough. However we soon learned that all of the easy chores that we took for granted - or even enjoyed - are now obstacles to be overcome.

 

Fortunately, digital technology comes to the rescue. Unfortunately, not everyone is comfortable with, or equipped to use, digital technology and the new world of commerce.

Among the grocery items obtained by Volunteer Sandra Wong were some special treats. Here are Villagers Penee Field-Feinberg and Richard Feinberg holding their mango popsicles and looking very, very happy. Richard has a mango popsicle everyday, or sometimes raspberry flavor.  Penee likes them as well, but not everyday.

 

Sandra reports, “When the shelter-in-place began in March, I wanted to find a way to help my neighbors.  I had been thinking about volunteering with Greater Niles Village for a while and felt this was the opportune time as the need for volunteers is more than ever. I'm so glad to be able to do something as small as grocery shopping for Penee and Richard to keep them safe.”
