"Nobody's Fool"

Nearly a dozen people attended our most recent GNV book discussion group (Lessons in Chemistry). We're looking forward to an equally well-attended event when we take on Pulitzer Prize winner Richard Russo's Nobody's Fool.  Set in the small town of North Bath, NY, in 1984, this rollicking novel serves up on-target dialogue, with penetrating insight into the dilemmas faced by an array of unforgettable characters, among them Donald Sullivan (Sully), around whom the main action spins.  Russo is described in The Houston Chronicle review as "compulsively readable....<presenting> alternating episodes of boisterous humor with moments of heart-wrenching pathos".  The group elected not to have a discussion leader this time, expecting everyone to share the responsibility.  Happy reading!
